We have an exciting project in the pipelines which we hope will change the way young people manage their diet. Although we can’t reveal too much just yet, here are the basic details of what to expect from our app 'Health Heroes'...
Evolyst is aiming to design and develop an evidence-driven, user-centred mhealth app targeting healthy eating for children.
Collaborating with Public Health Warwickshire & Coventry University, Evolyst were the winners of an Innovate UK award (The Government’s Technology Strategy Board) to develop the idea with the backing of The Jamie Oliver Group.
Industry-led apps have been shown to lack a basis in behaviour change theory and evidence. Utilising the tools available on mobile phones and our experience in the mhealth field, we can buck the trend and offer a new and innovative approach to childhood healthy eating.
Coventry University will be assisting with the trials, which we hope will provide evidence that utilising behaviour change theories and elements of gamification is successful in helping children to achieve a more balanced diet.
We will be developing Health Heroes over the next six months, aiming to reach the trial stages by the end of 2016.
If you would like to get involved with the trialling process, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
More details will be released soon.
